How can I determine which version of the Windows Operating system is on my PC?
Solution:
Follow these steps for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP:
- Click on Start, then Run.
- Where it says Open type; winver and then click on the Ok Button.
Ex. Windows XP Run Box
A dialog box will open showing the operating system and version.
Ex: Windows XP Version Box
Follow these steps for Windows 7 and Vista:
- Click on the Start circle, then Run.
- In the Search box at the bottom of the menu type; winver and then hit the Enter key.
Ex: Windows 7 Search Box
A dialog box will open showing the operating system and version.
Ex: Windows 7 Version Box
