Correct Procedures for Entering an Address
It is imadnatory that when entering an address that it is entered correctly per MLS procedures. If addresses are not entered in a consistent manner it may result in properties not being accurately reflected in the “History” program. When entering an address please use the following guidelines.
Use normal spacing when entering an address - no punctuation is necessary. Directions are optional, as they do not always apply. Street names should be entered completely. The following street tags should be used. Failure to enter street tags correctly/completely may also result in listings not mapping properly on the flexMLS system or other web sites.

Highways with an alpha character (Cty Hwy B) should be entered as County Road B. Highways with a numeric character (Hwy 12) should be entered as State Highway 12 or US Highway 12.
Street names that begin with “Saint” should be entered as St. James. There should be a space between the “St.” and the word James.
If the property address contains both a N/S and E/W in the address enter as follows:

After a listing has been entered into the computer system it will be given a MLS number. This number is used throughout the computer system and web sites. Please make note of the number. You are required to submit to the MLS, VIA MAIL or drop off, the following information:
1. A copy of the listing contract, dated and signed by the seller(s) – front and back page only and any appropriate addendums as they relate to the terms of the contract.
2. A computer printout, if listing is entered by the broker.
The MLS does not want/need the entire listing contract or agency disclosure forms, condition reports, etc. Do Not mail this information to the MLS. It costs your company extra money in unnecessary postage and coping/paper fees – and we throw those items out.
