Training and Communications
We are all bombarded by information we receive through phone calls, voice mail, personal contacts and email. It is difficult to digest all the content and determine what is important – to us individually and to our businesses. MLS puts communications in concise and anticipated publications and programs.
The monthly “FYI” comes with the company invoice and should be shared – through copies, or sales meetings or conspicuous posting – so that your agents are aware of the issues. A “Broker FYI” is published twice per year and is mailed directly to designated brokers. These communications examine several issues in greater depth and rely on the broker to analyze the information and share it with staff and agents. “flexTIPS” emails are sent about every two weeks to all agents for whom we have an email address. These messages offer ideas and tips about the flexMLS system as well as issues that may affect your business activities. The monthly FYI documents are also published on www.metromls.com.
Training programs are conducted regularly at the MLS Tech Center. What is your level of expertise with handling documents or building a CMA? What about the wireless features on your phones that allow you to surf the ‘net’ and use flexMLS from anywhere? We can teach you the basics or the details – in the Tech Center or in your office at a meeting. Call us for details or to reserve your spot in a class. Need access to tutorials about flexMLS, recent Market Reports or forms? Visit www.metromls.com seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day and see what is waiting for you.
Disclosure of Terms of Sales
The MLS requires certain sold data to be reported – sales date, sales price and type of financing. Most of this information is non-confidential and available from various sources. The MLS also permits the entry of “remarks” on listing sales. These remarks should not contain any confidential data.
There is a question as to the confidentiality of other information related to the sale – this would include buyer and seller negotiated concessions or other terms of the sale. No confidential information should be published through the MLS without proper authorization nor should it be released to anyone without such authority.
The Realtors® Code of Ethics at Standard of Practice 1-9 states (in part), “The obligation of Realtors® to preserve confidential information (as defined by state law) provided by their clients in the course of any agency or non-agency relationships continues after termination of those relationships.”
The MLS appreciates your business and support and looks forward to your comments, questions and suggestions regarding any subject. Contact (InMyOpinion@metromls.com) a or call (414) 778-5400
